Cadets boosted by Lions donation | The Transcontinental

An influx of new members for the Stirling North Country Fire Service (CFS) Cadets has been met with an additional positive – a $1300 donation from the Lions Club of Port Augusta.

Each year the Lions donate $100 for each new cadet that signs up with the CFS, and this year 13 young people signed up to begin their journey as a cadet.

President Andy Sayer recently presented the cheque to Alicia Clark from the CFS, with the money to go towards clothing and other expenses.

“We like to support them because they originally came to us asking for support, this investment is what we came up with and we doing it ever year,” he said.

“Occasionally they have a big meeting and we do the barbecue for it … we try to support them as best we can.
